Rohr kicks against two year world cup

Image
Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has kicked against the proposition by former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger that the World Cup tournament should hold every two years. Wenger, head of global development for world governing body FIFA, had suggested overhauling the international match calendar from 2024 to have fewer international breaks and more meaningful matches. The proposition has been opposed by several national team coaches like Didier Deschamps, Roberto Martinez, Dragan Stojković among others. Rohr has also joined the list of national team coaches who disagreed with the Frenchman. “I think it is very difficult to make the World Cup every two years because you don’t have the time,” the Franco-German tactician said in an interview with Elegbete TV. “The dates are already so fixed that you don’t have any time to do other qualifiers or other tournaments or playoffs. We only have 365 days in a year and we cannot play every day. “But it is good that the next World C...

The dress was the highlight of an 800-item collection of personal effects, ranging from bras and DVDs to books and make-up that were sold by Winehouse’s parents, Mitch and Janis. The entire collection brought in $4 million, twice the original forecast, according to auction house Julien’s, which managed the sale that ran from Saturday to Sunday. “Of course, there are fans and museums and collectors all over the world that will want to own some of these items, care for them, show them at museums, keep her legacy a...

From Monday, travellers who can show official proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and have had a recent, negative viral test can again fly to the United States. "Really, really exciting. I mean, I was meant to go just before COVID happened, and obviously it's been delayed this long, so it's really exciting to finally be able to go," Alice Keane, travelling to Miami to see her sister, said at London's Heathrow airport. The protesters, drawn from the Ethiopian diaspora in the United States — many with family members in Tigray — marched behind a banner denouncing “365 days of genocide in Tigray.” Placards carried by protesters were emblazoned with messages including, “Stop bombing Tigray,” “Allow access to Tigray,” “Using starvation as a weapon of war is a violation of international law” and “Our ethnicity is not a crime.” “We’re here from all over North America,” said Zuher Ibrahim, who lives in New York and was part of the march organizing committee. “Tigrayans are being subjected to mass arrests in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, and the famine continues to loom over the people of Tigray, and West Tigray is under a complete lockout,” she told...

The woman’s eldest son survived her actions. During the trial, the prosecution alleged that she had first sedated the children and then drowned or suffocated them one at a time. The investigating officers believe that seeing a photo of her husband with a new partner was the incident that motivated the crime, which shocked Germany. She then messaged him that he would not see the children again. The children’s bodies were discovered in their beds on September 3, 2020. Also, it was gathered that the oil firm deducted a total of N1.78tn from its remittances to the Federation Account Allocation Committee during the 10-month period. Data from 10 various NNPC reports indicated that the reasons for the repeated product losses and its attendant value shortfall include sabotage on oil installations and pipelines, community interference, production shutdown, etc. The October 2021 report of the oil firm to FAAC, for instance, stated that Seplat (Jisike) terminal suspended crude oil production due to sabotage on it Izombe-Ebocha line. The report further showed that the shutdown dragged on from July 21 to August 8, 2021 and led to the halt in the production of thousands of barrels of crude.
